All you need in order to share Jesus with someone is Jesus. To proclaim the gospel does not mean to convince a person to believe but instead to invite them to believe. Allow the Holy Spirit to do the work.

One Faith

Galatians 3:23-26 Culture tells us all religions are basically the same and we're all going to heaven when we die. That is patently false. There is one faith, one Christ crucified, and one salvation. Paul uses the masculine form of the Greek word "one" because when we "put on Christ," we become the body of Christ - we are brought together in Him.

One Man

Galatians 3:27-28 Only Christ could accomplish what He did at Calvary. Only through His sacrifice could we be reconciled to God and become sons and daughters of God. Our identity in Christ supersedes all other identities. It's more important than our race, gender, nationality, or any other delineation.

One Family

Galatians 3:29 Paul tells us we are Abraham's seed and heirs according to the promise. Our faith is multi-dimensional. There is height - through faith in Christ, we are reconciled to God. There is width - we are one in Christ, brothers and sisters, joint heirs with Jesus. There is length - throughout the centuries, heroes of the faith have gone before us, living out their faith in God.

  • How do you counter the argument that all religions are basically the same and we're all going to heaven?

  • Believers in Galatia were being told to keep the Law to gain life, righteousness, and favor from God. How is our natural struggle to seek God's favor through our actions contrary to what Paul is teaching? How does our thinking need to be transformed to align with the truth of the gospel?

  • In Galatians 3:24, Paul describes the Law as our tutor to lead us to Christ. Is the Law necessary when trying to lead others to faith in Jesus Christ?

  • Do you have a testimony prepared if someone asks about your faith? If you were given the opportunity to lead someone to Christ, would you know what to do?

  • What is the difference between the church as an organization and the church as an organism?

  • What additional insights can we gain into Galatians 3:28 based on the context of what we have just studied?
