Series: “THE GOOD FIGHT: Perspectives on SPIRITUAL WARFARE”
Sunday, February 11th, 2018: “The Worldview Conspiracy” • Pastor David R. Stokes
Have you ever felt like the whole world was against you? Well, you were right. If you are serious about being a faithful follower of Jesus Christ, the world is, in fact, dead-set against you. Jesus said it this way: “If you belonged to the world, it would love you as its own. As it is, you do not belong to the world, but I have chosen you out of the world. That is why the world hates you.” – John 15:19 (NIV)
Accept it. Deal with it. Get over it. Move on.
The fact is this present world is under water—so to speak. And that water is polluted. It is downright deadly. The devil himself is not only in that water—he is that water.
“We know that we are children of God, and that the whole world is UNDER the control of the evil one.” – I John 5:19 (NIV)
Never before—especially as human history builds like a crescendo toward things to come—has the need for discernment among people who profess themselves to be of “the faith” been greater. Don’t leave home without it. In fact, don’t go home without it.
What is your WORLDVIEW? How to you see life? How do you understand history, culture, business, morality, and spirituality? Your worldview impacts every decision you make. It’s a pretty big deal. Here’s what you need to know: There are really only two worldviews. One is a godly one, the other, not so much.
“Two roads diverged in a wood and I—I took the one less traveled by, and that has made all the difference.” – Robert Frost
- How many decisions do I make without thinking about what God thinks?
- How should I interact with a culture that is hostile to God and godly values?
- How do I cultivate healthy detachment from the world without drifting into legalist bondage?
